eBay’s Safe Payments policy states that a payment service must have a “substantial historical track record of providing safe and reliable financial and/or banking related services.”
Google’s spokesperson said yesterday, “Google Checkout is not a beta product. Google has a long history in billing and payments for AdWords and for premium services, such as Google Video.”
Okay, so Google has been processing peoples’ payments for awhile now in other areas, but for some reason, they are considered new to the game. Seriously, who doesn’t trust Google? All I know is that if Google came out with running shoes tomorrow, I would buy them because it is Google and they don’t put products out there that don’t live up to our standards.

Speaking of piracy, this is a good read in regards to Microsoft’s attempt to crackdown on piracy and how it has backfired for the time being. It is funny how they can try to protect their software from piracy but do it in a completely unacceptable way. I respect their efforts to protect themselves, but there are certain things you just don’t do and compromising users’ privacy is just one boundary you don’t overstep.

Imagine taking your Ipod into Blockbuster and dropping it off at the front desk. From there, it is hooked into a docking station and videos are downloaded directly to your Ipod. You then leave the store, arrive at home and dock your Ipod into your home system where the downloaded videos then play on your tv. Sounds good right? Well, as this article suggests, you are not the only one that can imagine this being possible.
I can say with certainty that this would be convenient and less wasteful, but I can also see some negatives coming out of it. Though I am not sure where this will go and how this will effect us, I do know that no matter how people obtain the videos, piracy is going to be a possibility, so hopefully, we can come to a solution that is convenient and fast and just trust that people will do the honest thing.

The Web has put the real estate ad industry in constant flux in recent years, and a new Borrell Associates report indicates there are no signs of things settling any time soon. Indeed, online real estate ad spending is expected to grow from $2 billion this year to $3 billion by 2010, rising from a 17.7 percent share of all real estate ad spending to 32.1 percent.
